(Upper): King Constans in monastic garb being stabbed. The original heading is simply 'Nayremoyn' [black monk], but a later hand has added Constans' name. (Lower): A group of men, one in the centre with bâton (Vortiger ?) apparently pointing at the murder above, another with glove in hand (perhaps doing fealty to the new king). Inscribed 'schenisschal' [seneschal].
