View into the starting pit of the 1003 meter long tunnel under the whole Peene valley. 256 concrete elements were continuously advanced during the drilling work. They lie about six meters below the river. The Eugal consists of two strands as far as Weissack in Brandenburg, then it runs in one strand as far as Deutschneudorf on the Czech border. The first of two pipelines through which the Russian natural gas from the Nord Stream 2 Baltic Sea pipeline will be transported inland is scheduled for completion by the end of 2019. GASCADE Gastransport GmbH (Kassel), a company of the chemical group BASF and Gazprom, is responsible for construction and future operation
